  AMPS Development

AMPS has started an open source initiative and support from open source developers across the globe is a must to move forward. At AMPS, we invite open source developers and academia to take part in further development of its products. Students as well as professional developers can contribute and get global recognition in this regard.

AMPS' source code is available at Sourceforge.net under project named 'amps-2007'. Please click here to view source code.

AMPS offers development opportunities in:

  • Documentation
  • Coding
  • Integration with different Operating Systems
  • Testing
  • Performance Optimization

Documentation:
We need immediate help in documentation of AMPS. We intend to start a wiki for documentation soon and would like someone to document all the AMPS APIs. We will provide some help in getting going.
Coding:
We have a long last of features that need to be added in AMPS. It ranges from a few days to a full semester course project. As like all other open source projects, you will have to sign a contributor agreement if you would like your code to become part of AMPS. You will get the credits acknowledged for the contribution that you make to AMPS.
Integration with different Operating Systems:
Currently AMPS is only available on Linux and Windows. It needs to be ported to other operating systems most notably:

  • Solaris
  • Symbian
  • iPhone OS
  • Palm OS
  • Mac OS
  • Windows Mobile
  • Android
  • Other RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems) like vxWorks, eCos, QNX, Monta Vista Linux and others.

Testing:
If you can help in testing of AMPS code on different scenarios, please identify yourself. It will be great help.
Performance Optimization:
There are many avenues where AMPS needs performance Optimization. Again identify yourself if this is something you would enjoy doing.
